Police departments across America have confirmed they’re placing SWAT teams on alert for Tuesday’s presidential elections following internet rumours of disorder in the event that Obama doesn’t win.
Oakland police department spokesman Jeff Thomason told the Daily Telegraph they’re ‘preparing for the worst’ pointing out that Obama could become the first ‘African American as president.’
“I think everybody around here is voting for Obama, so if he gets in the White House everybody’s going to be happy,” he added. “But we’ll have our SWAT teams on standby and traffic teams here, so if something goes off we’ll organise and take care of the problem,” he vowed.
