Cosplay (costume play) has been steadily growing in popularity across Australia for a few years now, however to date there has never been a chance for cosplayers to express themselves and be recognised on a national front… until now that is! ITM headed along to the Madman National Cosplay Championships recently to shoot some pics.

Wondering what cosplay is? Here’s the Wikipedia description:

“Cosplay, short for “costume roleplay”, is a type of performance art whose participants outfit themselves, with often-elaborate costumes and accessories, as a specific character or idea. Characters are usually sourced in various Japanese and East Asian media, including manga, anime, tokusatsu, comic books, graphic novels, video games, hentai and fantasy movies.”
