Mo’ Fire is the rolling, ragga styled drum & bass hit from Bad Company’s recent album, Shot Down on Safari. Rather than maintaining the pace of the original, this mix takes a more minimalist approach, building slowly through a melodic intro and keeping a down-tempo feel through most of the track. The track drops off toward the end, losing any momentum that it had built in a prolonged breakdown that may have been intended to build suspense, but just proves tedious.

Personally, I preferred the Andy C v Fresh mix (also available on 12”), which sustains the richness and perpetuating rhythms of the original and is definitely going to be more of a hit on the dance floor.

The B-Side sees the Dillinja mix of Nitrous, leading in chanting “re-mix… re-mix” before dropping some huge bass and storming through a rollicking d&b ruckus. Check it out if just for the b-side.
