(Superphunk / Warner Music)
After a pretty long exile, DJ Tomcraft comes back into the limelight with a tune that has been doing the massive rounds in Europe of late, the seriously addictive ‘Loneliness’.
This track has already swept through Europe and it now looks like Tomcraft will continue his assault worldwide with this techy but also “punk-ish” sounding trance monster. With already increasing airplay on the airwaves and on music television shows, Loneliness is set to definitely become one of the dance tracks of the year.
On this single, you will find 6 mixes starting off with the Radio Edit and the Tomcraft Mix which is by far the best of them all. The wicked female vocals, buildup, main riff and occasional break beats make this track a real treat and one that goes down so well in a club.
The Aspect Mix takes more of a view on the drums and towards a tribal sounding mix; it’s just a bit too boring and progressive for me. The Lost At Sea Mix turns out to be more interesting; again more focus on the drums, beats and bassline and overall is a good flowing fairly progressive mix.
Next up is the Muc Mix and this is very similar to the original Tomcraft Mix but is a bit shorter and brings in the piano lines that were part of the Radio Edit. The final mix which is The Calculators Mix is a bit hard to describe; it’s slower in parts, gets bouncy but not bangin’ and adds in a few new mellow guitar lines. A bit of a funny weird mix but nice and different all the same.
Overall the mixes are nothing too special and I am a tad disappointed by them at the end of the day. I am sure many more mixes will come out soon enough and I really think that this track, especially with that wicked riff would convert into a top hard trance/house mix extremely well.
If you haven’t heard this track as yet, get out there and have a listen. I believe a lot of trance lovers would really enjoy this track and possibly those who are into harder styles of trance and house music too. This is going to be one of the tracks to remember in 2003.
