Kate Ryan - Scream for More

After its original release in 2001, Scream For More has been re-released, now sung completely in French and re-titled: Mon coeur resiste encore. Popular in the Euro-trance/pop scene Kate Ryan (Katrien Verbeeck) is one of Belgium’s well known dance vocalists alongside fellow mainstream trance group Lasgo.

The single features six remixes of the track, two sung in French. The first is the Radio Edit which sports a solid euro-trance sound. Kate Ryan has a good voice quite similar to the sound of Tina Arena several years back. It can be described as a faster paced pop track, with some dance elements layered over the strong vocals. Unfortunately, most of the mixes do not seem to carry the smoothly layered and polished sound of much of the trance being released at the moment. The Original Extended Mix manages the cross-over more so than the previous two mixes, while the Orphean Mix is a good take on this track with a similar feel to releases by fellow Belgians Lasgo, and is the highlight if I must select one.

The last two remixes are the French versions of the track with identical structure to the English Radio Edit and Extended Version. The French vocals sound nicer and seem to blend better with the Euro-trance sound than the English version. If you enjoy more mainstream vocal oriented trance or releases from Fragma or Lasgo then this may be for you.
