(BMG)
With a swirling synth intro it’s clear that the sounds on this release are quite professional. A trance sounding distorted guitar synth ads itself to the minimal introduction while a simple break beat joins the slow building sounds. Once the track drops the swirling into synth fades away and the listener is greeted with a deep heavy bass that’s sits well over the break beat drums. Quirky glitch sounds signify small variations before each change and really add that distinct ‘breaks’ sound to the track.
The female vocal is fairly stock standard and is no real stand out in the voice department; the structure is also pretty basic with a simple verse/chorus type arrangement. The vocals carry on in the usual song standard until toward the end where the track steps up a notch. A lead guitar synth sound takes hold of the track and gives it a real rough trance sound that goes really well with the heavy break beat and bass. A break toward the end of the track sounds very spacey and chopped up vocals re-emerge, the stuttered effect coupled with the tougher sounds and the trance like background give the track a really good sketchy progressive element that really helped the track to develop. Quality production and a nice progressive sound will help to push this track into breaks sets around the country.
On the B side a dub version of the same track offers a good sounding breaks track without the vocals except for some broken stuttered vox toward the end.
