After his great first album ‘Bienvenida’ and a handful of EPs, the Kid is back with a new album, ‘Mint’, and for the vinyl junkies a new 12” for F-Comm.

‘Come With Me’ is the main track on offer here. Featuring the vocals of Lisette Alea (of stateside electro-pop group Etro Anime), it kicks in with a stuttering broken beat that soon drops in with mellow deep house pads. Unfortunately, the vocal doesn’t sit too well with me – a little too Madison Avenue perhaps? It’s near tailor made for smooth listening lounge bars and cafes, but the beats are still pretty well-produced meaning that it’ll fit nicely into any house or tech set.

Hidden away on the B side, you’ll find a nice little surprise. Palma ditches the vocal for a classic slice of Mr Fingers-flavoured deep house. Even if you don’t get into the title track (who could blame you, it is a little on the pop side), check this – this deep acid groove will get the crowd at clubs like Honkytonks or Mad Racket going mad!

Lounge bar jocks and smooth house fanatics should check this out for the polished sheen of the title track, but fans of a more underground sound would do well to skip straight to the flip side for some effective dancefloor magic. Keep an eye out for an additional 12” with remixes from Brett Johnson and Llorca.
