(EQ Grey)

After creating a huge impact worldwide with his Colours of Conscience, released on Electrofly, Australian Jono Fernandez is back with another serving of tasty breakbeat.

A solid bass kick begins the Original Mix, with some electronic beeps and drum’n’bass influenced squelches coming in later, and a cheeky vocal sample on top. It has many of the qualities that are common in breakbeat and d’n’b tracks, but with a slower bpm. A melodic undertone comes in during the build-up towards the end of the track, with some beautiful piano keys going hand-in-hand with some subtle (but epic) female vocal snippets. It has all the qualities to get into the bags of everyone from Meat Katie to Danny Howells.

Cheeky Canadian Jay Tripwire teams up with Mr Barcode for their remix on the flipside, with some nifty acid-styled loops; but with the same vocal sample as the original. It is a solid tech-house track, very much meant for early in a set, but bound to get some asses wiggling. H-Foundation, Lee Burridge, and Terry Francis will all be heading for this side.

Both mixes have their time and place, but the original really stands out as something to further put Jono Fernandez on the world stage. Definitely worth a solid listen in stores.
