This is an interesting one. It’s always good to see local producers come through with great tracks, with Sydney based FsarD being touted as the ‘next big thing’. His debut release, Unleashed and Waating do a great job to show he has the skills to produce killer breakbeat tracks.
A rather appropriate song title, Unleashed is a unique track that is sure to cause havoc on the dance floor. In the breakdowns there is a sample of a well known classical piece of music (that I have forgotten the name of!), before kicking into some really meaty breaks with a twisted melody line. And I mean twisted. The first few times I listened I found the classical sample a little cheesy, and to be honest I still do to some degree, but for the main part it’s a great track that is certain to turn heads.
Not as intense as Unleashed, Waating (no I haven’t made a spelling mistake) features vocals from Aimee Nash. The deep and low bassline makes a welcome return along with tuff drum pattern. While the staccato drum break towards the end sounds cool, I found it didn’t leave much time to mix out of the track.
Both songs have a definite 2-step sound to them (breakstep anyone?), and it’s refreshing to hear such great music coming from Australia. Keep an eye on this one!
