The latest release on FFRR seems to be getting quite a bit of play from a wide range of jocks around the globe. And with the remix work as varied as it is, it’s not that surprising. The mixes come from Darude, JS16 and The Plump DJs. It is the Plump DJs that make this tune a winner.

The tempo of this track is the first thing you notice, and it actually becomes the identifying factor throughout. It starts at a more furious pace than what the Plumps have delivered in the past and blends well with a wobbly bassline. The first breakdown sees the tempo almost grind to a halt before chugging along and building back up to a slamming peak which is an unmistakable Plumpy trademark now. Plenty of loops, effects and generous sprinkles of extra ‘oomph’ keep things interesting and the constantly changing tempo ensures this isn’t a ‘lets grab a drink’ track.

An ideal track to get a crowd going crazy prior to peaktime, this has the potential to do serious things to a dancefloor. Without really giving us anything new The Plump DJs have once again churned out a funky nu-school breaks remix which makes breakbeat accessible for almost anyone. I am close to disappointed that it is so similar to previous tracks such as The Push, or Scram, but when something is working so well for you, why change it. I am sure the next breakbeat revolution from the Plump DJs is only around the corner. Until then I am happy to soak up the sharp crisp production work they do so well.

The flip side has a Darude vs JS16 remix…. ummm, it seems to grip my slipmat very well. Not my taste, so I won’t even try to be nice to it.
