(Superphunk/WAR)

This girly house track is the coolest! There is something reminescent of the Charlies Angels-60s cinema era. There are 3 different parts to the song, lyrically as well as musically: verse, bridge and chorus. I think this makes this song better than most house tracks out at the moment cuz there’s more to this song than just repeating the one page of music. There’s the obligatory breakdown where music stalls to allow vocals to build up towards the end of the track. The vocals of Lima are heavenly – she also did the vocals to Now or Never.

Club radio edit is pretty choppy and I hope that I don’t get landed with that version on the dancefloor. I guess it picks up the pace a little but funking it up really grated with me. Extended mix is longer and I guess allowed for more exploration into the sounds. And instead of adding strings in to add fluency to make sweet house, this track offers a little more funk by breaking it down to the elemental beats and melodies. I really like the ending to this track – lots of strings and absolute girliness.

Club mix stamps its tune from the very beginning with some heavy beats, bigger bass, faster pace. It’s quite similar to Remix1 – except that this version has been seriously abducted by aliens and thrown into space – lots more electronica and tweaky beats. J.C.A and Tom Novy’s late night session mix starts with rolling drums and then kicks in with a heavy thumping beat then the percussion comes in to add its flavour. This 80s-esque very electronic version and is very similar to all the dance versions that come out. There’s this beat that is highly recognisable. Anyway, this remix is nice – the vocals are at the same time as in the original radio edit but the beat changes the feel of the track.

Phat Small’s mutant mix is a l’il more adventurous: lots of whooshing aeroplane stuff, bubbling beats, and well this version is super additoooood! Still very groovy, it feels a dash more raw and less finished. Reminds me of Depeche Mode’s track I just can’t get enough. Awesome finish to the track though – check it out!
