(F Communications/Creative Vibes)

Hailed as the nascent French answer to Underground Resistance, this duo are lucky enough to have received the patronage of techno king pin Laurent Garnier by releasing on his F Communications imprint. Minimal tech and tech house is their game, and quirky is their name.

The Youngsters cite Detroit Techno as a major influence, and it’s a vibe that’s again evident on both tracks of this classy 12”. First up is Introduction, a saccharine-synth-laced-tech-electro stinger. Tough drums and smooth keyboards combine here with fairly minimal production. On the flip check out These In My Arms with heavy hats and unpredictable effects.

An astute discogs.com reader probably summed this release up better than I: “Laurent Garnier is a genius, and the Youngsters are just fantasticola. If anyone says French music is shite, play ‘em something from this label.” Enough said.
