The Bomfunk MC’s are back with this follow up after their hugely successful commercial hit ‘Freestyler’. Well actually this one can not really be considered a follow up as this track was actually their first ever but due to their new found success, its been re-released with some new mixes.

I admit that ‘Freestyler’ even caught me up, it was so damn catchy, I also didn’t mind the Original of ‘Uprocking Beats’, it was much more up-tempo and enjoyable. But despite this, these new mixes don’t really do anything for me. I was expecting more from this new bunch.

The Bomfunk MC’s is mainly just JS16, who himself under his own artist name has made a few good tracks and remixes, but of late, it looks like he is sticking with only his Bomfunk MC’s work and his work with good friend Darude. B.O.W. is on the lyrics and DJ Gismo takes care of the scratches on this track.

We firstly have the JS16 Radio Mix which appears on the Bomfunk MC’s album ‘In Stereo’, this mix is quite boring, nothing as good as the Original which sadly is not included on this single. ‘Uprocking Beats’ it is certainly not. We then have the JS16 Sound Design Mix, which is pretty much just an extended version of the radio mix. We then have the Utah Saints Extended Alternative Acid Riff, I was quite interested in hearing this one out, but sadly it’s just as boring as the JS16 mixes. It’s badly composed in my opinion and breaks down every 20 seconds, alternative acid riff? It’s quite far from anything like that at all. Finally we have the Transformer Mix which is probably my favourite mix, but that’s not saying much at all. It contains some nice little new samples like the techy keyboard stabs but really at the end of the day it’s no real stand out.

This one out now from Sony Music is definitely aimed at the commercial crowd. No, not the cheesy trance lovers or even the hi-nrg followers, this one is for the Top 40 people. Not too sure on what kind of dancefloor this one could be played but basically if you like Top 40 commercial dance, this track contains, MC’s vocals, scratches, siren sounds and slight breakbeats, then maybe have a listen, but overall this tune is slightly below average.
