(Illegal Beats)

Kid Crème’s latest release on Illegal Beats is another prime example of his supreme production skills. Opening with a distinctly percussive introduction, the sounds expand with a funky guitar and a quaint disco riff. Soon the track drops into a filtered break and kicks back in with the backbone of this track, the bass line. This funky bass line driven house is what you’d expect from Kid Crème. With additional male spoken vocals by Shurakano it’s pretty obvious that this track is set to become pretty large. It’s funky and very dance floor friendly but it’s not really the commercial sound that one might associate with funky house.
 
The disco elements build in intensity and create an old school fell to the track. Deep in the back of the mix a piano arpeggio plays that really suits this funky house sound. The track breaks and builds a couple of times in different combinations but there aren’t any new surprises throughout. The flip side is exactly the same except the vocal is sampled rather than the complete vocal.
