(XL Recordings/Remote Control)
‘Shake Yer Dix’ is a standout track from electro-hip hop-punk queen Peaches’ recent album ‘Fatherfucker’. Not only does the sheer catchiness of this track grab you but the lyrics rock damn hard as well – ‘are the motherfuckers ready for the fatherfuckers, are the fatherfuckers ready for the motherfuckers’. Language warning there guys…
Fellow Canadian electro maestro Tiga has been moving from strength to strength of late with most notably his cover of ‘Sunglasses At Night’ and more recently his massive electro house club track ‘Pleasure From The Bass’.
Tiga turns his dancefloor magic onto ‘Shake Yer Dix’ by upping the tempo and putting it on an electro-techno spin. This ‘Where Were You in ‘92?’ mix takes things on an acid-rave journey complete with a crowd sample to build atmosphere and the blowing of a whistle to summons in the busy hi-hat smashing climax.
This 12” also features the instrumental of the remix (without the vocal the track seems to take on added depth) and the very valuable acapella.
