September sees Brasil unleash its second monster of a dance festival on to the world in the shape of the Brasilia Music Festival. The festival will be a two-day extravaganza featuring the cream of the international dance scene across four arenas and a live stage. With over 60,000 people expected to attend, it is set to overhaul Skolbeats as Latin America’s biggest dance music festival. The Brasilia Music Festival began as a rock festival in 2003 with headline acts Simply Red and Alanis Morissette. However, it now has a unique set-up in that it will be a yearly event with rock and dance music being the theme on alternating years. This year will be the first year of dance music, and will be the first time Brasil’s capital has ever staged an electronic music event on this scale. Featuring the likes of Fergie, Green Velvet, Fabio, Sonique, DJ Jam (Snoop Dogg) and Dillinja on Day One, and DJ Craze, Renato Cohen, Mistress Barbara, Justin Robertson and Bryan Gee on Day Two, the remarkable DJ line-ups have every base covered. The Live Stage features amongst others London Elektricity and Soul II Soul, as well as exclusive full Live Shows from national heroes DJ Marky & XRS and DJ Patife! With South America now firmly established as part of the International Dance Scene, their growing festival circuit looks set to establish as part of the International clubbing calendar. Having always been able to match anywhere for party spirit, and now with a proven ability to match Europe for lineups, organisation and infrastructure if you ever needed an excuse to go to Brasil this is it! The BMF is promoted by Rafael Reisman Productions and Bulldozer Media, director Edo van Duyn said of the event: “The BMF this year will be the biggest festival ever in Latin America. We’ve worked hard since last year’s event to create a dance line-up that could rival the rest of the world!” For more info:
