Brisbane-based hybrid electronic / live trio PTY LTD (aka Tim Tainsh (vocals), Daniel Tainsh (drums) and Peter Golikov (keyboards) have rocked festival crowds from Good Vibrations to Nepal over the past year, and ‘Treat Me Like That’ is the latest single to be released from their warmly-received 2003 debut album, ‘You Should Be Like This More Often.’

In its original Single Mix, ‘Treat Me Like That’ fuses pumping beach-house beats with Peter G’s funk-inflected distorted soulboy vocal, funky wah-guitar riffs picking their way around fat distorted analogue synth bass to create a catchy and extremely radio-friendly disco-funk track that would sit easily next to the likes of Planet Funk or Roger Sanchez. Daniel Tainsh’s ‘Visitor D Remix’ goes for the standard 12” extended remix approach, stripping away the various layers of the original track and focussing on stretching out the original disco-infused bassline and Moog keyboard lines over seven minutes of crisp disco-house beats, while Peter Golikov’s ‘Golden Sounds Remix’ drops the tempo for a swinging fat-synth bass shuffle through looped live drums and wafting electronics that gradually gathers pace, shifting up into crisp tech-house beats and squiggling acid squeals that are nicely offset by some glacial Chicago-house sounding pads and Tim Tainsh’s warm disco-soul vocals.
