(A Stable Sound/Inertia)

Clocking in at just over 28 minutes this release truly is a teaser. The renowned dj of Jurassic 5 has thrown down a quirky jazzed up mix of quality hip-hop from the J5 camp.

The sounds are generally laidback with smooth transitions between tracks. Cut Chemist showcases some of his superior mixing skills with clever juggles and cuts that really make the mix interesting.

In saying that the tracks are far from dull, Cut Chemist revisits some of Jurassic 5’s classic releases with remixes of Lesson 6, The Numbers Song and Bunky’s Pick as well as many other J5 hits.

The mix is relatively boppy and keeps the energy moving really well, the beats are jazzy, funky, percussive, swinging, acoustic and breaky. Throughout there are great samples tossed around that break up the beats.

The sounds are very diverse but the mixing just keeps everything tight and fresh. I really wished it were a longer mix as 28 minutes just isn’t enough.  This is a definitive mix for any J5 fan and a must buy for any hip-hop enthusiasts.
