(Parlophone/EMI)

A prelude to the upcoming album, ‘Walk into the Sun’ their latest is an interesting sign of things to come. The single features two remixes of Dirty Vegas’, ‘Walk into the Sun’ both of which aim for a new larger audience.

The now Grammy award winning trio of artists have been sitting on a winning hand since they started out just a few years back. The trio comprise of Paul Harris, Steve Smith and Ben Harris (no relation to Paul). Between the three, their skills range from DJ, drummer, guitarist and vocalist and in this latest single all their skills are shown.

For those expecting the quality and sound heard in ‘Days Go By’ then don’t be to surprised to find that this single is very different. The first track on ‘Walk into the Sun’ is the radio edit. This edit has a catchy tune and for the type of acoustic rock song it is, the song has a variety of layers. Also, making the track listenable and being the high light of the track are the very tidy vocals sung by Steve Smith. Similar to those of ‘Days Go By’ they are clear and extremely well sung. All round an interesting song, although definetely aimed more for radio culture and popularity.

The second track the instrumental version of ‘Walk into the Sun’ and isn’t any  different to track 1 apart from the lack of vocals. Long term I eagerly await other perspectives on the latest from Dirty Vegas. Hopefully these aren’t too far away and will rank as high as some of the ‘Days go by’ remixes.
