This is a compilation that combines the quirky fun of 70’s and 80’s electro and adds a touch of 21st century engineering, with various producers dabbling on the decks with a very macabre and crazy result, one that for the younger generation is like taking a trip down memory lane to childhood. As it claims, it certainly remodels and reshapes timeless electro for a more marketable and interesting result, and in the fast paced world of techno that is fabricated from nothing, we often forget the wealth of electro has come before.
It’s a recycled oddity with tracks like Mi-Sex “Computer Games”, The Models “I hear motion”, Hunters and Collectors “Talking to a stranger”, The Flowers “We can get together” and Do Re Mi’s “Man Overboard” and others. These are all given the treatment of various artists like Fatt Dex, Ju Ju Space Jazz and the 5000 Fingers of Dr.T to name a few.
The result is fun frolicking retro that’s 80’s enough to make you want to say “Karma Karma Karma Chameleon”, but not quite enough to make you want to bring out the fluro leggings again.
