Bodyrockers are Australia’s Kaz James and Dylan Burns from the UK. Both of the duo already have quite sweeping accomplishments in dance music, with Burns being one half of Coloursound, whose song Fly With Me is a house sensation and Melbournian James has already had residencies in Ibiza and Mykonos. They met while Burns was touring Australia with Coloursound, Kaz James was on decks and Burns joined onstage playing guitar. In this fashion they rocked the house of Sydney club Kink after Field Day on NYD at the beginning of 2005.  Dylan Burns was reported to have ended up rocking out with his guitar on a speaker stack.

I Like The Way You Move is said to have been recorded in four hours, with the Burns’ lyrics made up about a particular groupie observed during their tour. The vocal refrain, working on a repetitive line of “I like the way you…” ends with such likes as ‘sing along’, ‘always get it wrong’, ‘shake your hair’, ‘like to fuck’ and ‘stare so much’, and of course, ‘move’. The vocal sleazes across a layered, crisp-over-buckety drum beat and a distorted, rolling guitar line keenly reminiscent of that in Flashdance by Deep Dish.

This rock’n’roll element in house music has been a strong force of late, with the aforementioned Deep Dish track, and Sick Strings by The Jack Addicts, Mills & Joy all parading the same type of sound. The sound has possibly evolved from the now quietening wave of electroclash that has risen to popularity over the last couple of years. Either way, it seems a favourite for many house fans who are now looking forward to a string of remixes, both from Australian and overseas talent of the Bodyrockers first track.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
