(Ministry Of Sound/EMI)

The Ministry Of Sound team have done it again, picking up what is set by a successful tune in funky house circles. Marcus Levins’ remix will be the one to do the damage.

The Vinylshakers Club Mix utilizes uplifting trance-like sweeping strings to introduce the track. The vocal is worked in softly. Into the body the trance-like vibe is shattered by jazzy house chords. The breakdown in the middle of the track is effective. Overall the track’s a respectable blend of flawlessly produced bass, suitable hi-hats, and not to much use of a catchy vocal. The intro and outro are well constructed and provide Djs with plenty of opportunity for mixes.

The Vinylshakers Dub Mix opens proceedings with obviously tougher and darker drums. The use of the vocal is more infrequent, where it’s utilized snippets are cut and paste around the track to good effect. The sweeping strings here reside in the tracks background, making this version a hit with those who like their club house large and dubbed, while still being highly dance-able.

The Marcus Levin XXL Mix has the potential to be the next big thing in funky house. It fully utilizes the catchy, high-pitch sounding vocal, plenty of uplifting house chords, sweeping strings build up the track. There’s lots of predictable bass drops, then bass cuts into just the hat, then into the bassline. The bassline is very Eric PrydzCall On Me’. Overall all the elements worked together successfully to create what could be the next big house anthem.

If you like your funky house big-room and anthem-esque then check out this release.
