(Fingerlickin’)

Another quality Fingerlickin’ release. The beauty of the label is that you always know what you are going to get. You can probably already tell that this is typical Fingerlickin’ goodness, but that’s definitely not a bad thing!

The singles first track ‘We Love It’ is a bass-booming feast of block rocking funk. The introducing is groove-infested broken beats layered over a quirky funky squeaky riff. The track is large and very Krafty Kuts style. The body of the track is a flawless combination of (what sounds like) a large, heavily distorted guitar riff, an originally funky bassline, crisp top-end hi-hat, and a hypnotic chanting vocal. The beats learn towards the funky end of break as opposed to the more tough end of breaks. The track builds and swelters masterfully, and for the DJs provide good opportunities to mix.

The second track is ‘Right On’ is a hypnotic bass-heavy masterpiece. The track uses a more standard broken beat, the large engulfing electronic riff dominates the track with severe success. As you’d expect the hi-hats are crisp, the collecting of freaky spacey sounds circulating the track and the deeply echoed hypnotic vocal adds creates an atmosphere that draws the listener in. It’s also good to hear some scratching samples thrown in for good measure.

A great release, if you’re into breaks I’m pretty sure you’ll dig this. ‘We Love It’ has already been snapped by Ali B’s forthcoming Y4K.
