(Hussle/EMI)
The current master of larger than large club house, Tom Novy, brings a big filtered, sweeping, stringy monster to the heavyweight Hussle label.
Although Novy has been producing consistent house since 1995, it was only last year that saw him rise to mainstream popularity. His appetising remixes of Sin Plomo’s “It’s You” and Sander Kleinenberg’s “The Fruit” have won the ears and wallets of punters and compilations alike.
The Original Club Edit uses the usual tough house drums, the vocals are effectively basic and looped. The track is largely atmospheric; encrusted with a light zappy synth riff, an original bassline and a wicked concoction of hi-hats. It feels a bit like “Call On Me” and a bit like Gadjo’s “Too Many Times”. A must for those house DJs that prefer to play it up-beat, but still ‘crowd friendly’.
Tom Novy’s “Your Body” is currently number one on the ARIA Dance Charts. It’s seriously kinetic, guaranteed to keep dancefloors moving. Keep an eye out for Tom touring selected Australian states in October 2005.
