I can feel it my bones, I can feel it in my feet. I’m gonna sweat, sweat, sweat, till I’m soaking wet”. One of the biggest funky house anthems this winter is subject to a host of remixes.

The Original Mix provides a sweltering funky house anthem for this winter! The track is anchored by a bouncy and contagiously funky bassline. The hi-hat and accompanying top end elements all culminate perfectly to create a real ‘early in the night’ style funky house bomb. The vocals are the tracks primary drawcard. The vocals are your usual diva ‘house’ style, they are courtesy of vocalist Ruby, they state “I can feel it my bones, I can feel it in my feet. I’m gonna sweat sweat sweat, till I’m soaking wet”. Pretty wicked stuff. If you have frequented any house clubs in the past couple of months you would have heard this track.

The Soul Avengers Remix is much like the Original Mix, but makes it a little more ‘club friendly’. This is achieved successfully through a beefed up bassline, and the cutting, pasting, repositioning and layering of the vocal masterfully. The latter stages of the track sees the introduction of the Soul Avengers trademark jazzy piano line. Funky house DJs take note, this one will rock dancefloors.

The Cellar Dwellers bring 3 different remixes to the single. First up is the Cellar Dweller Full Vocal Remix; and as the name suggests the vocal factor is switched on ‘high’. The drum and percussion elements follow the more typical ‘feelgood’ house, the piano line is looped and along with the vocal takes centre stage in the track. The Cellar Dweller Big Room Remix utilises tougher drums. The appeal of this version is in the mid-track breakdown; which builds the vocal with accompanying uplifting strings in the very funky outro utilising seriously jazzy piano chords. Another one that’s set to do some dancefloor damage. The Cellar Dweller Big Room Re-Edit is a much more Dj friendly version, it features full 2 minutes basic drum intros and outros.

Next up on the list is the Paul Harris Vocal Mix. Harris brings a jazzy yet smooth tune to the single. The track is ruled by a subtle sub-bass electro-style bassline that is very effective and ads a big-room ‘club’ dimension to the original. I must admit I prefer the Paul Harris Dub Mix which brings the sub-bass electro-style bassline to the surface and makes perfect use of limited vocals. The mid-track build-up is destined to set dancefloors crazy! It’s a huge build-up of sub-bass snarls that build into an epic ending.

For a bit of variety the ADS Breaks Remix is included. The bassline is large and the subtle acid undertones are a success. The vocal is meshed to the tracks elements successfully, but I think the vocal isn’t suitable to a broken beat structure.

House DJs take note, this one is a must in your record box. My pick is the Paul Harris Dub Mix, that said, the mix that will do the damage in the clubs is Soul Avengers Remix. Check it out!
