(Hussle/EMI)

One the biggest funky house anthems of last summer and one of the biggest hits at the Miami Winter Music Conference gets the full remix treatment. A very respectable house single providing a remix for most house tastes from funky to electro-infused.

The Stonebridge Mix brings a smooth, luxurious rolling piano house remix to the single. As you would usually expect from Stonebridge, full use is made from the vocal, the drums and hi-hats are well coordinated, and the bassline is simple, strong and effective. The track has an earlier in the night feel, and is definitely not what you would call a peak-time track, it’s a little more relaxed than Stonebridge’s usual tempo.

The Sharam Jay Remix brings an electro flavour to the single. The track wastes no time delving into the action with chattering hi-hats and the usual electro-house style bassline. The effective use of limited vocals with the building acidic bassline make this remix a real peak-time club hit. The build-ups are first class in funky house circles and the tracks building flow achieved by swirling synth lines are a large part of its success. If you’re a house Dj who has been bitten by the electro-house fever, check out this mix.

The DJ Flex and Sandy W Vocal Mix is largely vocal oriented, but strongly rooted by a respectably large bassline. Just when you think this will be your average vocal re-work, the listener is greeted by and explosion of bass, hi-hat chattering and an epic little sweltering acid and electro infused stinging riff. The mix is a little left of funky house centre and will sit well with those that prefer not to play what everyone else is pushing.

DJ Flex and Sandy W also provide us with an Instrumental Mix. This mix is much like the Vocal Mix but the vocal is completely wiped and the stinging riff is extended and used to build the track. This mix is very Dj friendly with easily mixable intro and outro sections.

The Bush II Bush Remix brings out more of the percussive elements of the original. The track is more smooth (as opposed to the ‘up and down’ tendencies of usual funky house). The mix is bordering on progressive and would really fit well as a ‘builder’ track. The Deep T San Serif Remix adds a respectable remix, that utilises a host of squeaky and spacey sounds layered well over limited vocals.

The Club Mix brings together all the known-to-be-successful elements (latin percussion, uplifting piano chords, sophisticated keys and the energetic female vocal) of funky house. A mix for the really mainstream house clubs. The Dub Mix makes the vocal more punchy and dubs them slightly. The calling card of this track is its use of human vocal claps, human crowd cheers and raw piano chords to create a huge mid-track build-up. This mix is very dancefloor friendly. It sounds like a real live cut, a great remix!

Funky house DJs put this one on your ‘not to be missed list’!
