Trance Republic is the second release in the Club Republic series. It’s mixed by chart-topping DJs Agnelli & Nelson, Darren Tate and John Askew. Climb aboard as we listen to some of the sweetest uplifting, prog and tech trance released in recent times. CD One, mixed by Agnelli & Nelson, is a timely production coming just before the duo hit Australia for the Godskitchen tour. The CD opens with ‘I Know You’re Gone’ which features some gorgeous orchestral sounds. Melt to Nick Thompson’s ‘Spice Fire’ and marvel at Young Parisians’ brilliant ‘Jump The Next Train’.
Agnelli & Nelson have included their ethereal ‘No One On Earth’ and the atmospheric Filo & Peri tune ‘Closer Now’. Other tracks worth watching out for include Kyau Vs Albert’s ‘Made Of Sun’ and closing track ‘Shiver’.
Darren Tate is a well-known name amongst the UK trance community playing with Ministry, Cream and Slinky. He starts CD Two slowly with Maurice & Noble’s ‘Hoochie Koochi’ and then ‘Eighties’ by Tilmaz Altanhan. The vocally uplifting ‘The Unknown’ – sung by Melinda Gareh – notches the mood up, before dropping down into ‘Starlight Chaser’. Things stroll into the techy field through the later half of the CD. Tunes to flick to – Sandler ‘Chemistry’, Lennox ‘Servants of Justice’ and Darren Tate’s own ‘Servant Of God’.
Ex-rock band member John Askew is widely known for his Kiss FM radio station show. On CD Three he opens with the seductive ‘Twilight’. We get glitches and bleeps in Sam Sharp’s ‘Error’ and driving tech trance beats in ‘Kissed’. The CD tones down for Askew’s own ‘Blackout’ and Marcos’ ‘Cosmicstring’. The final tune, Astrix’s ‘Tweaky’, with surprise with its psy-trance flavour.
