(Hussle/EMI)

Hussle continue their leisurely walk down the electro-clash path with some very epic, dancefloor friendly music. Having just returned from dropping bombs on UK dancefloors, Nathan G on the back of his well supported release “Automatic” brings his next single for Hussle.

The single contains two mixes, the pick being the Groovehunter Earthquake Mix. It brings together all of the sure-fire elements of the current fad electro-house music into a neatly wrapped dancefloor oriented package. The drums are raw, the bassline familiar, that hi-hat basic and the vocals catchy (and after a while very irritating). The track goes up hard then descends to its basic elements, then does this again. The body of the track consists of the cliché vocal looped, a subtle acid line and the big familiar bassline. The track would get an ok reaction on the dancefloor, but doesn’t have the stamina to go the distance. It reminds me of Sikk’sMy Washing Machine”, but isn’t as impressive. The Groovehunter Bootyshaker Mix lends itself to more Felix Da Housecat style electro-clash. The track is allowed to build nicely with the use of a heavily demented acid line. The single also comes with an accapella which I found especially difficult to digest.

I have to say I think this track is a little to over the top, trying too hard to be ‘electro’. It will have a minor effect on commercial dancefloors, but that’s about the strength of it.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
