Coming with every recorded remix under the sun and their accompanying instrumentals this remix single is an hour of Silicone Soul’s latest single “The Poisoner’s Diary” lifted off their latest offering. Personally, I’m not that much of a fan of Silicone Soul, so reviewing this has been hell ‘cause it is literally an hour of the same track – I’m now better for it, yet I don’t think I’m ever going to get these infernal lyrics outta my head. End rant!

The original is a disco-sorta-post-punk electro house track that isn’t too exciting, but the electro elements pick it up from the dirt. There is also the extended 12” version included along with an instrumental. The vocals on this track and the remixes remind me of Joy Division and New Order combined with Gary Numan’s old stuff. Most of the remixes are fairly one dimensional and don’t really move too far away from the 12” mix, unfortunately even the “Slam Return To Mono Mix” isn’t really too exciting with just some tripped out industrial samples being used with a heavier beat.

This disc is obviously geared towards CD-DJs who buy these remix discs instead of 12”, but the only mix that comes close to note worthy is the “Viva Stereo Sonic Soul Mix”, with its electric guitar sample that goes crazy and filtered vocals that make up an overall good to moderate track.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
