Take a sprinkling of Bob Marley and mix him with a dabble of Funkstar Deluxe’s ‘Sun Is Shining’ and, hey presto, you have ‘Let’s Get Down’ by Supafly Vs Fishbowl. This tune is one of house’s biggest tracks for 2005, already featuring on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection.
Supafly, for the record, are Australia’s Mister P & Christos from Melbourne, and ‘One’ on vocals from London. Fishbowl is there side project; an urban Australian band. There is a dizzying selection of mixes on this single; 7 in total. They will all make you want to “get down”, most likely with a cold drink in hand. It’s a summer party tune – mellow yet funky.
The Urban Mix (Track 5) is Backstreet Boys Meets Bob Marley. The Original Mix is darker with some sweet synth basslines. The Full Intention Dub Mix has some annoying big beats. I like the two Radio Edits (Tracks 1 & 2). They make the best of the relaxed Jamaican-style vocals and the fun atmosphere.
