Finally, an electro single that floats above all others who dare. It’s the latest from arguably one of the world’s hottest electro house producers Sharem Jey, the single is complemented by remixes from two other respected heavyweights. Rebounding off his debut EP ‘4 Da Loverz’ and an Australian tour Sharem has been setting the studio and dancefloors worldwide alike on fire. His niche positioning slightly left of the typical electro house sound has seen his respect and fan base grow. His latest effort, “Push Your Body”, inspired by Prince “Erotic City” demands attention.
First up the Original Mix puts itself out there as a hit to rival Tiefschwarz’s remix of “Kinda New”. Wasting no time, Sharem fuses fluid vocals with a violently distorted synth-driven bassline. “Push Your Body” has an energy unlike your typical ‘run-of-the-mill’ electro house tracks. Flawless meshing of innovative vocals with juicy synths complement raw zapping strings and perfectly orchestrated subtle funk elements to make this a track that will be flogged over summer!
If the cheese-factor of the Original leaves you grated the electro mastery of Thomas Andersson will have your ears attention. Andersson’s remix is a raw cocktail of progressive rhythms that weave through hypnotic chords and growing growling basslines. To the DJs using a pioneer mixer, keep the bass low on this one! For those who like it dark, driving and slightly out of left-field, Andersson’s remix is for you. As is always to be expected on the single there’s the remix that is suppose to fill dancefloors. Here the LouLou Players bring a squelchy acid number to the single, surfacing the vocals with only minor effectiveness. The basic DJ-friendly drum intro and outro make this the one you’ll be hearing out.
The final remix on the single is from one of the scene’s busiest DJ/producer, John Dahlback. His remix is the pick of the single. Hooked from the first crisp drum beat, the chords are engulfing and hypnotic, the subtle acid line mind bending and the build-ups down right crazy. One of the Dahlback most dancefloor friendly productions, it will do damage to speakers and minds alike. To all those DJs pushing this current sound, this is a must for your record box.
