(Vicious/EMI)

A No.1 on the ARIA Club Charts. A massive dancefloor electro 80s remake. It’s an all Australian affair. It’s a monster.

A cover of Romeo Void’s 1980s original, Vandalism’s interpretation has been tearing up pseudo-electro nightclub floors for months. Leaked onto the internet and to a number of top Australian DJs, the track had a huge cult following even before its release. Vandalism is Andy Van of Madison Avenue (no, that association will never die) and studio demon Kam Denny.

First up on the single the Radio Edit is pushed down your throat. All the best elements are packed into just 2 minutes. A huge farty basslines, a catchy vocal “I might like you better if we slept together”, plenty of drive and packed with funk; this one gets even the most anti-techno-phobe dancing. The Extended Mix, as you’d expect adds a drum intro and outro, this is one for the mainstream house clubs dancefloor.

The Dirty South Mix utilises big build-ups to great effect, this is the version that’s currently destroying the spawn of new-breed electro/house clubs. To the credit of mrTimothy, his mix sits slightly left of centre, with a big funky bassline and jazzy funky house chords. The vocal effects used here are a credit to his skill as a producer. mrTimothy’s mix is for the Dj’s that prefer not to play the mixes that everyone else is flogging.

Vandalism also snuck a cheeky one in; ‘It’s All About You’ uses much the same formula with the big ruling bassline, catchy vocal and plenty of electro/house action. Also, big thanks for the inclusion of an Acapella; I will definitely be using it!

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
