New Zealand’s Fat Freddy’s Drop bring us this two track promo with remix credits going to Berlin’s ever impressive Jazzanova.

The Mashed Bag remix starts off with a very cool, resonating bass guitar riff which is continued throughout the track. Reggae style vocals are provided by FFD member Dallas Tamaira (aka Joe Dukie), who on a side note has previously released, with fellow band member Chris Faiumu (aka DJ Fitchie), the very popular Midnight Marauder’s on Jazzanova’s Sonar Kollectiv Label . This is a loud, clashing track with nice percussion and aforementioned bass guitar, which results in a bit of a rocky feel to it.

Whereas the Mashed Bag remix is loud and organic, the Breathe Easy remix is stripped down and more electronic. A funky, simple drum loop coupled with a plodding bass line will defintiely do some damage on some broken beat or house  dance floors. You can’t help but bounce to the Breathe Easy chorus. Funky stuff.
