After the huge success of the first Body Language mixed by M.A.N.D.Y, it was inevitable that it be followed up by another release, this time by none other than DJ T aka Thomas Koch, who tore the Terrace down at Home nightclub earlier this year. Listening to some of this CD brought back some of those epic and fun moments of that killer set… (insert dream bubble here)

Body Language Vol.2 starts off with the morbid and gloomy voice of the deceased former member of Drexciya in a spacey yet bouncy opener in “Let me be”. The vocals continues as Stella’s “Extralife” provides us with a very enjoyable and thought provoking DJ Naughty remix.

There is a period in the first section of the disk where the electro influences (computer glitches, distorted bleeps and swishing sounds) of Tensnake’ “Around the house” and “sweet cow” by Chicken Lips dominate. Add the rolling, thumping and percussive number of Spektrum’s “Horny pony” in between and you have the first stanza of the CD that is good enough to ensure you are not going anywhere or changing the disk.

For me the mood seems to change slightly in style but dramatically in emotion as Audio Soul Project’s “Reality check” begins to create a slightly more serious mood with the intentions behind their vocals and their funky beats. The new release LP on Get Physical is mixed in delightfully as DJ T and Booka Shade team up to create “Played runner”, a standard high quality production that has all the qualities of previous releases and a master stroke in the heart filling melody that appears in the latter half of the track. It’s a really beautiful sound that the boys at Get Physical have etched.

Somehow Carl Craig’s (thrashed but never enough) remix of Theo Parish’s “Falling Up” falls epically into sequence with the previous track and is followed by the lush, busy and moody dub mix of Tiefschwarz’s “Damage” by M.A.N.D.Y, by far the best remix of this track. It is hard to not enjoy this mid section of disk because it is just so danceable and fun, evoking wonderful memories of past parties and those that haven’t even existed yet.

The trance feel of Gui Boratto’s “arquipelago”, with it melancholic keys and somber feel, mark the transition into the next phase of the journey. The final two tracks of the disk are the Isolee remix of the dreamy Villalobos tune “What you say is more than I can say” and the DJ Koze mix of “I think about you”. Both are a subtle and smooth way to end the disk, in manner that leaves you wanting one more rise, one more synth, one more everything. Solid, super solid release.
