To all those beautiful people out there who like it funky and haven’t yet heard of Rephrase – its time to familiarise yourself! Rephrase (who also goes by the name of Jamie Olsen) is a talent, to say the least. Hailing from Sydney, Rephrase’s first album, Beatcoaster, remains one of my favs to date and this latest release (off his second album Little Victories), is no exception.

Rephrase is known for his chilled-out jazzy hip hop and broken beats, and Chase Your Tail continues with this theme. It features some very cool electronic sounds (including a jazzy saxophone), together with the hip sounds of Candadian MC Vandal, thrown over a punchy breakbeat. The result is sweet and I predict that this track will be a huge floor filler at your local breaks event.

The single also includes feature track Jellyjam. In a similar theme to Chase Your Tail, Jellyjam features the vocal talents of Lone Catalyst and the rapping sensation J Sands. Again, Rephrase exposes his talents to produce a very funky chilled-out track with an overture of tubes and a butt-wiggling breakbeat. This single will be an asset to your collection.
