Tonite Only Remix
Fresh from mixing disc one of the latest installment of the Ministry of Sound Mashed series, Tonite Only turn in a remix destined to be one of this summer’s biggest tunes, and which has just hit number one on the ARIA club chart. A catchy lead line introduces the tune before the massive sometimes semi-detuned bassline drops, similar both in sound and melody to the low-end on their huge remix of the Similou’s All This Love, released earlier this year on Hussle. What sets this remix apart is the quality of production: Sam Littlemore (aka Sam L’Amore) has co-written with heavyweights the Black Eyed Peas, programmed and produced for Gwen Stefani, Pnau, Robbie Williams and many more. The other half of Tonite Only is the already well established Groove Terminator.
A cheeky female vocal verse makes a quick entry before the tune breaks down to the mellow chords of an acoustic guitar. The vocal drops “I’ve got lots of pictures in my head, you better not turn off the projector”. Creamy, wobbling synth chords enter to build the tension before another big dancefloor eruption. This track is one of those ones which will have those young, excited, electro-house loving punters running to the booth and demanding “OMG! What IS this?” and then leave the club ready to request it from every DJ they ever come into contact with until T.O. drop another remix.
Original
In comparison to the Tonite Only re-rub, the original is a quick, punchy, electro-pop ditty but that seems relatively forgettable when compared to the mammoth club sound of the Tonite Only version. Despite this, the tune would be nicely at home in an early set on a summer night and perfectly enjoyable to bump in the car on the way to the beach.
