TV Rock. Everyone knows them. ‘Flaunt It’ used to be a cool song, you know? Untill it became way too popular and was overplayed everywhere… Despite this, the song did kick off the whole electro house movement, and there have been dozens of ‘Flaunt It’ imitations since. Ivan Gough, a respected progressive producer and DJ in Melbourne for over 10 years, saw that the prog sound was dying out, so he and Grant Simile formed TV Rock, hooked up with Seany B, and the rest is history. Their second single, ‘Bimbo Nation’, was an incredibly bad song, although the Tonite Only and T-Rek mixes weren’t half bad.

I am glad to report that ‘The Others’ could quite possibly be the rebirth of TV Rock. Featuring vocals from the super cool indie rock outfit Dukes of Windsor, ‘The Others’ is a massive electro bomb. The vocal is somwhat haunting, scary even, but oh so catchy. It also features an amazing bassline and some fairly housey drums, with nice synths that make an overall brilliant package. TV Rock will regain a lot of credibility with this tune. It is absolutly massive at the moment, with EVERYONE playing it, and even more people wanting to hear it. It may even be the next ‘All This Love’.

The Kam Denny mix is a bit harder but has no sexiness. The TV Rock Mainroom Version is definitely the one to go for. A pick for the next Ministry CD for sure.
