A song by Danni Minogue doesn’t really inspire much confidence. She’s Kylie’s sister, she was never quite as good, she’s had too much plastic surgery. The end result is really nothing special. However, when Danni has been remixed by the likes of Chris Lake and Sebastien Leger, you know it must be something special.

The vocals are incredibly annoying yet catchy. Lines like “one night at the disco in the outskirts of Frisco” are not profound, funny or interesting, and are somewhat try hard. Fortunately, Chris Lake gets rid of most of the vocal, save the words “greatest dancer”. The remix has the standard Chris Lake vibe. Big bass, nice drums and very clean sounding, with a helpful dash of incidental noises and effects. A top track, and definitely a favourite. The Shapeshifters remix is funky, commercial and a bit of fun. It would do well with the kids. It’s standard house music and it uses most of the vocal. It would be fine early on in the night, or at a very commercial venue. The Sebastien Leger remix is twisted and messed up, which is a good thing. It’s 4am material as it’s very dark and very deep.

The other remixes are more or less the same as the Shapeshifters version, although I’m quite fond of the LMC edit. To be honest, all the remixes are great, and it’s a matter of personal taste. I like the Chris Lake rework, but at times it may not be suitable, whereas any of the other mixes would be fine as standard house fare as it’s a catchy tune. The Riff and Rays mix is the only one that is slighly different, as it’s more electro along the lines of D Ramirez’s ‘Bodyrox’ remix. The Fugitive remix also has some hot piano.

An unexpected release from Central Station, and Dannii!
