Sydney’s Craig Obey, a veteran DJ and producer in the house scene, creates a fairly ordinary and lack-luster number here. At 130 bpm, you get to hear “music in my mind” repeated far too many times.
The Soul Avengerz give it a big kick up the butt, bringing in a big bouncier bass and a funkier melody. Tommy Trash gives it’s an electro edge, ripping out the wussy bass and adding a harder bassline, as well as adding in a much nicer breakdown where the vocals actually don’t sound annoying for the first time! It would be more suitable for big rooms. You can also lounge it up with Yogi’s remix, smoothing the original down into a booty-shaking retro disco number.
Obviously Hussle has tried to cover various markets with the variety of remixes on this release, yet it feels like they missed the mark all over. The track is nothing special, and the remixes aren’t mind-blowing either, however they saved me putting it directly at the bottom of the pile!
