If you’re old enough to remember the infectious techno alarm of Josh Wink’s ‘Higher State of Consciousness’, then you’d remember that it was huuuge! Thanks to Defected bringing back legendary New York house label Strictly Rhythm, one of the first releases from this newly formed label is a revamp of an absolute stormer. Under the guise of Wink, the single features five hot mixes across a variety of sounds yet while staying true to the original.
The one set to storm many compilations in the next month is definitely that courtesy of Australia’s hottest electro producers, Dirty South and TV Rock. Working that electro sound that the young ones are lapping up right now, this number is sure to be massive hit across the clubs. Marco V’s remix goes darker and deeper, transforming it into a fatter sounding eerie number. Barrat+Falconi takes it further, manipulating it and adding a progressive melody underneath the main beat. Finally, Tweekin Acid Funk’s remix is exactly that with an old school 90s beat just to spice it up.
They’re all remixes that I’m sure Josh will be proud of, and sure to take YOU to a higher state of consciousness out on the dancefloor.
