OM Records, the pinnacle of fine house music purveyors, is banging down the door and shaking the windows with the debut full length album from multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, producer and DJ Chuck Love, entitled Bring Enough to Spill Some – a two-disc collection of hits, never before heard exclusives, remixes and more! Disc one features fourteen original Chuck Love compositions to get you moving including fan favourites Beautiful Thang, Soul Symphony and Back In My Life. Disc two is a DJ mix of Chuck’s highly sought after remixes and productions to keep the party going, starting with a live intro from the legendary OM party in Miami 2007 – and featuring Chuck’s remixes of Li’Sha Project, Tim Fuller, Ricardo Rae, Colette and Andy Caldwell among others. All tracks on Bring Enough to Spill Some were either written, produced, arranged and/or sung by Chuck Love (with the exception of the guest vocalists).

“I really wanted to have a definitive collection of what I do for my first LP,” says Chuck. “Something I could hand someone and say ‘here’s what I’ve been up to for a couple of years’. I wanted to reach a wider audience beyond the DJs that are already familiar with my stuff.”

Having started out as a musician backing DJs on trumpet, guitar and anything else he could find, Chuck soon found his way around the studio and turntables, and nowadays acts as his own front man while laying down tunes, playing flute, trumpet, guitar, melodica and percussion as well as dropping his own vocals. His mix CD is something perfect. Something with the smoothest of tracks and tightest of mixing. Currently taking his album tour around the globe, the show is something to behold. Given that Chuck ‘cut his teeth’ in the clubs playing live instruments, it seems his DJ sets are almost something he’d rather push back into a hobby while concentrating on his creative musical side.

For a debut release, Bring Enough to Spill Some is nothing short of spectacular. Soul and funk-influenced house with perfectly pitched vocals on the mix disc, while the other is a hand-picked, filtered, processed and remixed collection of Chuck Love original compositions and remixes. Having only been out for two weeks, it’s already in my Top 10 for the year… Superb.
