Renowned Brisbane live act PTY LTD have released 8 versions of their new single Make Amends, the latest single to come from their hot new album Enticer Deluxe, an album described so accurately by inthemix.com.au as “a bomb of pure soul with a dash of funky disco.”

PTY LTD are not only one of the most popular live acts in their native state Queensland, but around Australia and the rest of the world too. After releasing the critically acclaimed debut album You Should Be Like This More Often at the end of 2003, PTY embarked on a mini world tour touching down in cities including Kathmandu, Tokyo, LA and Chicago, where they played open air parties and club shows.

They have played the Australian live circuit constantly over the last four years including festivals Good Vibrations, Woodford, The Falls, Parklife and KissFM’s ‘Kiss My Grass’, the latter as one of a handful of live acts on a predominantly DJ based bill. PTY have also played alongside a number of overseas acts and DJs including Moloko, Dimitri from Paris, Mark Farina, JJ Hernandez along with Latrice Barnett and Crazy Penis, who remain big fans of the band.

They have forged a strong reputation for their brilliant live sets. Their sound travels a range of soulful styles combining house, slow groove, rocked out funk and atmospheric dance floor excursions. Having personally seen them live in action many a time, I can vouch for their ability to transcend audiences with their unique style. As far as crowd responses go, they don’t come much bigger than for this latest single Make Amends.

With eight versions on this promo CDR, there are plenty of variations of the popular club anthem. None are better though than the opening remix by renowned Australian producer & DJ extraordinaire Craig Obey. Renowned nationwide for his house & electro house anthems, Craig has forged a reputation as one of Australia’s leading house producers. This installment is a slamming smash hit and in my eyes (and ears) the best of the bunch. Catchy, funky, driving, slamming, Craig has done a wonderful job in transgressing the song into a dance floor destroying single.

Giving Craig’s remix a run for his money with a distinctly similar sound and style is the last version of the track, the David Hemmings Radio Version. As the name predicts this was produced to be radio friendly and the result is a short but sweet (and punchy) version of the song. Speaking of punchy, that’s the best way to describe the 6th installment on the disc, the Blade from Jestofunk & Max Porcelli Radio Edit. Very short at just over three minutes but extremely punchy, this is easily one of the highlights of the disc.

It’s not all slamming Ministry of Sound styled club music though with two refreshing chilled out and down tempo versions. The Crazy P. Remix and Danny Rhodes & Golden Sounds Remix are delightful ambient remixes that are both extremely enjoyable. The latter remix by Danny Rhodes & Golden Sounds is slightly better listening, with a much more enjoyable vocal than the Crazy P. selection.

Taking the slamming and the ambient away for the minute and we are left with three selections with two unique sounds. The first and most obvious is the Original Version from *PTY LTD*’s fantastic album, Enticer Deluxe. The second and most similar reworking of the Original is the Blade from Jestofunk & Max Porcelli Remix. Funky and catchy both versions are

The most unique selection of the disc is definitely the Crazy P. Radio Edit. Unlike their chilled out remix of the single, this is a unique selection that just drools electro. With a big room electro sound, it’s the most unique and one of the most enjoyable remixes on the album. After hearing their first chilled out remix of the single, this electro stormer definitely shows the full scope of their production abilities.

In summary this selection of remixes are a testament to the quality of the original song. PTY LTD have for too long slipped under the radar on the national scene, but there is no doubting that with this club anthem and the brilliance of their album Enticer Deluxe that the sky truly is the limit for one of Australia’s finest live acts.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
