Anjunadeep just keeps getting better and better. Like a newborn a few months back, it was trying to stand on its own two feet as a sub-label of parent label, trance giant Anjunabeats, but the more its releasing, the more you can see, its standing tall all on its own. Canberra’s James Cayzer has been producing electronic music under the moniker Jaytech since the age of 14. Seven years on, and he has signed tracks on labels such as Ministry of Sound, Hope Recordings and Sony, and now Anjunadeep. His work contains a strong melodic influence while still maintaining the solid, club-driven beats that are essential to survive in the music scene today.
The single features two of Jaytech’s tracks, both that were chosen for Anjunabeats Volume 5, the latest compilation from Above & Beyond’s trance label. Spacelift is a bouncy and happy melodic track that progresses at a comfortable pace and could be adapted for bar, club or home. Essence also has a feel-good melody attached to a progressive beat, that builds and builds the track, making it a great starting track in a set.
Although I feel the original tracks are too slow at a measly 128 bpm, just one listen to the way Above & Beyond push them up on Anjunabeats Volume 5 and you can truly see the potential in both of these tracks. Anjunadeep – the label to watch!
