In 2004, I attended the Dance Valley Festival just outside of Amsterdam with a bunch of mates from Japan and it was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. This festival is beyond explanation. You and some ridiculously large number of people listen to some of the world’s best DJs across various genres at one of the most well-organised events I’ve ever been to, along with some of the most beautiful and attractive people in the world. I saw Ferry Corsten then and he was his usual brilliant self, and here three years on, he is still playing at Dance Valley, ripping it up to the masses!

Celebrating its 13th year in 2007, Dance Valley is one of the most well known events in Europe, and this year it again recorded the headline set of the festival favourite Ferry Corsten for this compilation. This set full of trance killers was played to a crowd of some 100,000 clubbers. Oh my freaking god! Now that’s massive!

With a massive back catalogue of hits to his name including the genre-defining classic Out Of The Blue (as System F) as well as Gouryella, Punk, Rock Your Body Rock, L.E.F, Fire and Beautiful. He’s also got a stunning portfolio of amazing remix work including the seminal Adagio for Strings, amongst many others. This compilation reflects everything that Ferry Corsten musically stands for; a fierce blend of euphoric trance, throbbing tech and pumping electro, spread out over two CDs.

Disc one features lush trance tracks like Lange’s Angel Falls and Kyau & Albert’s Always a Fool, plus a track I simply can’t get enough of, the Greg Downey remix of the absolute classic Heaven Scent by Bedrock. LUSH-AS!! Goosebumps!

Disc two has more magic hands-in-the-air trance numbers, such as The Thrillseekers’ Waiting Here for You, Sean Tyras pres. Logistic’s One More Night Out and a track from my fave trance label Anjunabeats, the beautiful Suru by Super8 & Tab. Driving tracks from Ali Wilson, Pagoda and Clear Skies, keep disc two rolling on well, and Sander Van Doorn’s absolute killer Riff blows the roof off… Oh, except there ain’t no roof, this event is all outdoors! HA!

Whether you’re fan of Ferry Corsten or not, there is no denying that he is definitely one of the hottest DJ/producers around at the moment and has been for quite a while. He just seems to get bigger and better by the minute. This compilation totally encapsulates the Dance Valley vibe, atmosphere and energy – everything I felt when I experienced it for myself. Grab this CD and I can assure you, you’ll be saving you’re pennies to get there for yourself in 2008! I know I am!
