Atomic Hooligan ventures into rock/electro territory – the aroma on emerging is not one of roses… So the original mix must be packing 145bpm+, so I had a bit of difficulty getting into it. Atomic Hooligan has changed a fair bit, and I guess perhaps the sentiment of the song rings true…
CTRL + Z Vs Pryramid deliver a bass heavy breaks mix that does what I would have expected more from the original. Tomcraft does his thing with ultra hard-trance styled beats, and uses the vocal to reasonable effect. Overall not a very inspiring mix from Tomcraft though – it seems that the aim is just to go hard as possible at the neglect of any musical substance, not really that cool as both Atomic Hooligan and Tomcraft have developed reps as credible producers in the past, and will lose them fairly quickly if this is where they’re headed now – in my most humble of opinions of course!
