Miguel Migs has been on the scene for many years, and has always managed to produce that unique remixed sound that has captured audiences throughout the world. Think sophisticated house, and there’s no hiding the fact that Miguel Migs has been at the forefront of that sound for what seems like an eternity. Get your jive on, get your twist on, and get your groove on! Whatever you do, look for this album and you will enjoy every single harmonic part of it.
The familiar sound of the tempo-driven electronic sounds of house highlights the pioneer’s passion to maintain elegance throughout this self-produced independent album, full of his best-known tracks remixed. The delicate beats and soulful lyrics will still send shivers of delight down the back of the most dedicated soulful house lover. Tracks embued with layers upon layers that provide the perfect build-ups, and illustrate the goodness of a classic touch of funk. Meanwhile, the awe-inspiring cosmopolitan music sets the perfect backdrop to lose control of your surroundings and enjoy the dedication and commitment that one great artist delivers in the creation of this album.
A World Apart sets the slumberous environment that lets you drift away into a world of ecstasy of aural delights and sophisticated musical design. But for those who are looking for that more energetic touch, you cant go past that ‘carnivale’ styled track Fire, which leaves a hot and saucy impression on you. This is carefully blended in though with other deeper vocal tracks including Let Me Be and Can’t Get Through, as the album continues to deliver an enormous array of diversity of house music. The showcase track of the album though was of course the second remix of So Far highlighted on the album; it’s a very soft-toned track with meaty electronic beats that is effortless to enjoy and caresses the aural senses of your body.
Contrasted with the complexity of some of the more layered tracks are songs that offer simplicity at their most basic state. But what really does set Miguel Migs apart from most producers is the creative lengths that he can go too, to completely change the mood of a song through obscurities in his mixing. For example, the second last track on the album Shake It Up combines the hip-hop touch to another soft toned track and provides a well required zap of energy to the album. While Get Down provides the traditional smoothness of classic lounge house music.
Overall this album combines the intensity of soulful vocals with gentle flowing beats to allow a more emotional connection to develop with the listener. Soulful, tasteful and a sassy hint of sexiness leave a unique flavour of indulgence to savour. Even long after the disc stops spinning and the lights are turned off.
