After Destination Unknown, Alex Gaudino was pressured to follow up with another monster smash, and so he has with Watch Out. This has been widely dropped in the first couple of months of this year, namely by Roger Sanchez and Johnny Gleeson and it’s destined for the top ten with massive crossover potential.
The tune itself borrows heavily from Pig Bag’s self-titled 80’s smash, and has ample vocal workings from Shena although the vocal melody itself does borrow heavily from Horny. The extended radio mix is good enough, but the remixes are top quality and give the tune the extra legs it needs to get the dancefloor moving. First up Nari and Milani give the song some electro workings whilst retaining the vocal hook. It has some great breakdowns, and will work well.
Next up, Jason Rooney brushes a more trancey/tech feel to the tune. He echoes the vocal through a massive break and brings Pig Bag’s horns in with much the same vibe. It is chunky, dark and moody and yet allows the tune to evolve and retain the Gaudino vibe. Robbie Rivera hits us with his version of the track on the fourth remix, and he also keeps the track moody and gives the track a broad touch of appropriate bleeps and beeps. Lots of reverb and echo to allow the DJ to go deep into the abyss.
Everyone single one of these mixes is a belter, and look forward to hearing it through your favourite FM station soon. Hands in the air people!
