Hed Kandi stronghold Tom de Neef and ‘Swedish House Mafia’ associate Laidback Luke release group effort Humanoidz this month on Jack Squad Records. No relation to Stakker’s seminal techno tune, Humanoidz is an animated and inviting tech-house track with a fabulous protracted guitar-led breakdown and desperate plea of “Aren’t we all Humanoidz?” throughout.

Funky and techy, the track flows along at a cracking pace, perfect for some midset bootyshaking. French duo Arno Cost and Norman Doray pass a slower electro consideration over the tune, bringing the funk and giving the track more of a late night terrace feel while wisely observing the guitar breakdown and vocal sample. Tom de Neef’s own remix From Antwerp With Love Dub is the pick of a great bunch, transforming a sound tech-house track into a spacedisco Saturday Night Fever classic. Sexy and fun, there is a much larger drop into a full grown lush synth – this is remixing at its best. Dutch brothers Double Depths bring a deeper tech sound to the track, in a late-night car ride which has an intense atmospheric quality perfect for warming up the dancefloor. Remaniax finish the release off admirably with a classy breakbeat edit complete with ear-splitting siren for added effect.

A quality release from two eminent producers, Humanoidz is an impressively tight package with some choice upcoming names blending house, techno and breaks. Already getting heavy rotation from the likes of Axwell, Dubfire and even Armin van Buuren, Humanoidz is sure to be shaking a few bones this winter.

Done. Now where did I put that Stakker CD?

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
