On the back of some serious hype at the Miami Winter Music Conference comes the ballsy ode to hedonism Baditude from industry heavyweights Dave Spoon, Paul Harris and Sam Obernik. Baditude is a bleepy electro house number that combines an addictive Spanish guitar riff and a funky maraca with a driving fidgety bass and sexy vocal. With this guaranteed formula for success, Baditude sounds like a mash-up of Riot In Belgium’s La Musique and Basement Jaxx’s Rendez-Vous.

The release is DJ friendly, with a long, slow build into the heavy kickdrum that zips along urgently before breaking down into the simple guitar riff and rolling chant. As much as I will always love Obernik’s vocals, the release benefits from the option of a dub mix which is rhythm led and a little tidier producing a largely altered experience.

Set to be the anthem of Ibiza 2008, this is one in the bag for the veteran trio, but be sure to enjoy it while you can – you’ll be hearing this to death this year! “From Boujis to DC10, Tokyo back to The End… Viva La Baditude!”

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
