Tommy Trash seems to be taking up the baton that is increasingly on offer at the moment, namely electro with a bit of ethereal stuff thrown in and a quirky vocal. Lover Lover is Tommy’s latest offering and comes with three mixes here: the original, instrumental and finally the Dabruck and Klein remix.

The vocal itself is “Lover lover Give me your number,” and that’s about all the development you’ll find along that avenue. I found this song to be a little empty and devoid of any emotion. The instrumental is pretty much the same as the original, the vocal is that short. Both tracks have some biting synth work and the obligatory heavy bass. The track is also allowed to build nicely, drop out with some beautiful breaks and then come in with the obligatory massive beats. But that is about all it does. The same can be said for Dabruck and Klein – their mix doesn’t really take you anywhere. Just drops you off at the local bus stop while you wait for an identical bus to take you on an identical route.

If we are to get more dance music, then we should demand more. There is not enough going on here to really allow the listener to get into the track. The vocal is just a passing comment and really needs a lot more depth to it if it is expected to add the track. This track appears to be stuck in two worlds without stamping its authority in either.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
